LP # 2 - into the darkness

This is me almost three years ago. I was buying some water and green mangoes in a park in Baguio City. It was dark in the park but the lamp post served as a guide to everyone.

My other entry is here.

1. To the best of your memory, at what age did you first start drinking coffee?

2. While chewing a chicken salad sandwich, you bite down on something hard, what do you do?
Spit it right away!

3. What are your favorite BRANDS of ice cream?
Haagen Dazs tops my list. Then, FIC. But I will always go back to the trusty mamang sorbetero in Arana Street in our hometown.

4. What non-carbonated, and non-alcoholic beverages do you like to drink?
Green Mango Shake

5. What food are you craving right now?
Pizza with Sausage pops at Pizza Hut.

LP # 1 - into the light

The candles are part of a birthday cake. It will never be complete without those. This is the cake of my husband and daughter when they celebrated their birthdays just last month. Take note of the many blue candles on the cake. And of course, the pink ones are there to stay...

cakes by estrel's

I am no cake lover but after I tried this one out, I resolved to order another (and another...) It's not too sugary (the sweetness of the cake is just right) and the caramel filling melts in your mouth!

They don't have a shop to display their goodies so you have to call at least 2 days in advance to place your orders.

the baker who was not french

A and I went to the newly opened SM Marikina last night to get Gabbie's baptismal gift. It's such a joy buying for kids!!! I swear, if I had much money to spend in a day, I will surely spend it on kids' stuff. L will crazy if I bring her there. In all fairness, okay na din ang department store ng SM. Wide variety of clothes, toys, accessories and infant stuff. And the colors -- they are so vivid and bright. Sobrang enticing to really go there!

After getting the gift and having it wrapped, we planned to have dinner at Burgoo (as it just opened that same day), but we found out that it was closed for a private function so we opted for French Baker instead. I wasn't really starving so I just had their fettucine alfredo, A chose to try their Chicken Cordon Bleu and we shared their signature soup in a bread bowl (crab and corn)

The presentation was extraordinary but the taste was not going back for. Really. We only liked the soup because we've been used to the taste but with all the other dishes, it seemed as if they experimented on the taste by adding some herbs and spices which wasn't really to our liking. All in all, I'd give FB at SM Marikina 2 stars.

birthday blessings

Food served during A's birthday lunch at Banana Leaf.

5 for Wednesday

When it comes to memes and tags, I really love how Yen formulates the questions that she posts in all her blogs. I am one fan, really.

1. Do you read the listed ingredients on canned, jarred, boxed, frozen, etc. groceries to help you decide whether to buy the item or not?
All the time! I am super particular with what is written on the labels that I end up spending more time in the groceries which irks my hubby and daughter hehehe!

2. Do you like to eat salad?

Depends on how it was made. I throw up with too much greens. I feel like a goat :) But A on the other hand can live with just salad.

3. Is there a meal/something you have eaten that stands out as truly memorable?
All meals are memorable for me. I love eating.

4. Which fast-food chain serves the best Chicken?
KFC for me! Jollibee for A!

5. Name 5 drinks you drink regularly.
Water, Iced Tea, Coke, Coffee and Vodka (hahaha!)

why the sudden silence?

I was away the entire weekend that explains the lack of posts in this blog and this. My company went on a weekend away in La Luz, Batangas and even if I had my laptop with me, I didn't have the time to really open it and blog. For one, there were just too much activity to miss. The place was calling me to relax and slow down. So there goes my 2 days worth of blogging. No regrets though.

We arrived late in the afternoon of Sunday. A picked me up in Eastwood and we went straight to Trinoma to get L a pair of school shoes (in black of course) and some stuff that her school is requiring her to bring (like tissue, soap, toothpaste, ruler ahahaha!). We were supposed to get her sanuks but there's no black sanuks for kids so we went to crocs but the school shoes they have won't fit her yet :( Got her another crocs instead but for everyday use and went to Florsheim for her dainty black school shoes.

I was so exhausted from the road trip going home so I retired early. It was L's official first day in school so I had to go with them to school heee! After dropping her off, A and I had breakfast at Starbucks in Libis. Leaving you with these photos...
